If your family lives within the blue line on this map you are within the Karitāne School Transport Entitlement Zone and are eligible for school transport assistance for your children to attend our school. The zone includes Hawksbury Village.

Families with eligible students can receive a conveyance allowance payment from the Ministry of Education. So a family with eligible students living 4.1km away from the school would receive $2.16 per day, or $10.80 per week.

(An eligible student means the student’s home must be more than 3.2 kilometres from their nearest appropriate school and suitable public transport is not available anywhere between the student’s home and their nearest appropriate school.)

Please note that students who live within the Karitāne Entitlement Zone are not entitled to travel on the East Otago High School Bus to schools other than Karitāne.
